I have had many patients asking me about the detox foot pads that have been advertised on TV very heavily as of late. In addition, they have also been curious as to how these footpads compare to the EB-Pro footbath detox treatments we provide in our office. After doing some research, I’ve come up with a couple of thoughts I’d like to share.
- The EB-Pro footbaths are going to provide a more whole-body cleansing than the foot pads. Since the EB-Pro treament uses low-level direct current, it causes release of toxins thoughout the entire body. The foot pad maker suggests moving the pads to a different part of the body once there isn’t as much color change to the pad when worn overnight, meaning that the effects of the pads are more local.
- The EB-Pro footbaths apply both negative and postive ions to the body where the foot pads only apply negative. This means the EB-Pro footbaths are going to help in thre removal of more types of toxins than the foot pads do.
While I think that EB-Pro treatments are superior to the foot pads, I think the advertising has raised awareness of the ill effects of toxicity on people’s health and well-being, as well as the need to support the body’s detoxification systems. The levels of toxins we are exposed to on a daily basis is overwhelming, and exceeds our body’s capacity to manage it. That’s why I personally do at least one footbath per week and strongly suggest EB-Pro treatments to anyone who is interested in improving or maximizing their health.
